Building a pond

Hi, I currently have 2 red eared slider turtles who have lived in a 60 gallon aquarium for 5 years. They have heated water and air. On Monday, we are having a pond built outside by a company that is knowledgable in turtles. The pond will have a beach and a basking rock and the deepest water will be 2 1/2 feet deep. They will also put in a heat rock. I am worried that this will be too shocking to my turtles who have lived in an aquarium. Will it hurt them that the water will not be heated? What about when it is cool outside. We live in West los Angeles 3 miles east of the beach so in winter it can be in the low 50's. Is it ok for this to be there new permanent home?

Hi Judi, This is our forum for knowledge about the food we feed our turtles, how to grow it, and where to buy it at.
